Spring!!!

Not only is it Friday--- It is the first day of Spring! Yeah. So excited about today. Well, for the most part. As most of you know, I have had Elle's beloved Lola Belle this week while she has been gone and I think that I have said this before, but she is so sweet. Just a little lover. Nothing like my mean ass little Cujo, Kasey. I let her sleep with me and she just lays at the foot of the bed and never moves. Doesn't bark at the wind or her shadow, unlike Kasey who barks at every little noise he hears or thinks her hears. I am meeting Mimi this evening to deliver her so Elle can rest tomorrow as she is just worn out. But, I will miss that little sweetheart. I am also traveling to my hometown 2 hours away to see my family because my sister is coming in from Dayton. Trust me... there will be drama, I'm sure of it and will be sure to report on Monday!

I DO NOT want to start a shit storm or anything... but I have to comment on The President being on Leno last night and a few other things that I just don't understand. If I am wrong about any of this stuff, please bring it to my attention and someone please help me understand!

A) A sitting President has NEVER been on a late night talk show. Ever. Why start now? It's tacky. Doesn't he have more important things to worry about like, oh, let's say... the economy...health insurance... the men and women still serving overseas than to sit on a late night talk show shooting the shit about playing basketball? He's only been in office for what... 2 1/12 months? It's not like he needs to let off some steam with Jay Leno! (He did talk about other things going on in the US, but the point is... why the hell is he on Jay Leno for crying out loud?)

B) Why does he think that he deserves a $2500 Blackberry PERSONAL cell phone when no other President has had one. EVER. It's a huge security risk especially with this day and age of terrorism and they are smarter than we think they are. I know it's high tech and all.... but WTF?

C) I don't like the fact that he sometimes does not wear his suit (jacket) in the Oval Office. It's disrespectful to the office. G. W. NEVER was in that office without a suit and tie.

D) I thought it was tasteless when he made the comment about his bowling game being like the "Special Olympics" or something of that nature.

If President Bush had made that remark--- he would have been cooked. People are so quick to throw past Presidents under the bus for some of the stuff they did, but they still had respect for the office. Ok... maybe Clinton had a few problems.... LOL... but he did not do the things that I mentioned. I'm not saying they were all perfect... but I believe there was a line that was never crossed.

While I did not vote for Obama, as an American, I will support him. But, I believe that some of these changes is just insulting to the Presidency. All of the previous Presidents gave up all of their personal cell phones, furniture and other personal items that I know they hated to part with, but it comes with the territory of being the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES!!!

Agreed on all points, Jenny! I did not watch Leno last night, because my husband could not stand to watch Obama on the show. Hope you're feeling good. Have a great weekend.

I totally agree. It's a real double standard this time around.

I did vote for Obama but I do agree with you on the whole Leno thing - it just gives the impression like he's not THAT busy. I didn't watch it but just to play devil's advocate, maybe he's purposely trying to do things different, to give the overall impression that change IS coming. Just a thought. I'm not too political either way, I'm just hoping for the best like the rest of us.
