Thank you to Elle for giving me the idea to dress up my blog! It took just a few short minutes that I actually have today! Things have been slow here at work on this dreary Monday afternoon.
I am feeling wonderful and it kinda scares me a little..... should I be feeling this good? Since the sickness and breast tenderness has passed.... I don't feel pregnant. I have a slight baby bump and my jeans are a little snug, so I am doing the whole "get an elastic hair tie and put it thru the button hole in my jeans and around the button idea" that a girlfriend shared with me early in my pregnancy. Too early for Maternity clothes and I HATE restricting clothes, so this will work for now. I had to say goodbye (for now) to my beloved boxer briefs that I love soooo much and went back to the ole bikini panties that you have to pull out of your crack every 5 minutes.
I don't go to the doctor again until Next Monday and it is torture! I want to get one of those portable Doppler's so that I can hear the baby's heartbeat...but NO ONE will let me because they know I will freak if I can't find the heartbeat. So, I'll suck it up and be like everyone else and play the waiting game.
As you all know, Elle is out of town and I have her beloved Lola Belle. She cried alot the first night and we tried to play with her and hold her as much as we could. We had the boys this weekend and they just love her. She is very playful and loves to give kisses. She is better now. Kasey is still...."Piss off, Bee-atch" as he hates everyone except me. I have been reading the baby book on what to do with a spoiled dog when the baby comes and read that I should get a baby doll toward the end of my pregnancy and try to ease him into it that way. If anyone else has any ideas... please share!
That's all for me right now.... I'm kinda boring today, huh?

Your blog makes mine look ugly. Love the color! Yes, we had a really old dog when our first boy was born. We had this 'baby annabelle' doll from wal-mart...it was great, and we still have it. She cried, and blinked - all that stuff. I truly think it helped b/c she'd never been around babies, and had a strong prey drive. Also, don't forget to give someone a hat or blankie from the baby to give the dog, before you bring baby home from the hospital. That way, the dog will have the baby's scent before they meet! Fun stuff! So excited to follow your journey.
Ahh, your blog is beautiful. I'm too afraid to mess with mine. And yes, it's normal to feel GREAT IN YOUR SECOND TRIMESTER !!!! Gigi's idea about the baby's scent is a great idea.
I like it :) Elle told me her an NGG were bring the dog over (uh..were they late? ;);)
I also told her to tell you hi...doubt she did in front of NNG..hehe. I also told her something else to tell you..and she laughed her ass off..BUT..again I doubt it ;)
Just relax...the Dr appt. will be fine :)
Great idea GiGi had. When we brought my daughter home, we had an Irish Setter, we'd let the dog sniff her..which she did, but very gingerly. Soon enough, whenever my daughter would cry, the dog would sit up...and cry too :)
I was going to suggest the same thing as Gigi. Send your husband home with a blanket or hat the baby has been near. Set it down near Kasey, so he gets used to the new "scent". And, a no brainer - never leave the baby and the dog alone for a moment early on. It sounds simple, but it's easy to put a baby in the bouncy seat and then think, "I'll grab a cup of coffee real quick." or whatever. I did this with Sissy when she was about 7 mos old. I had her in the bouncy seat on top of my bed (a big no no), but I liked to see her when I dried my hair. I walked down the hallway for more ice water and heard a thunk and a wail. She had flipped that chair over and crawled off the bed! Still strapped in that seat! And she wasn't my first, so I should have known better! LOL.
GiGi: Thank you! Oh!!! I love the blanket idea! I just hope Kasey blends well with little Peanut. Thank you for following me on my little journey!
Girl: I hope I continue to feel great!
Efen: I finally met Not New Guy! He was so sweet. I did not get out of my SUV and they got out to bring me Lola. We talked for a few minutes (Elle was inspecting my babybump!) and he totally held the door open for her to get back inside the car! Awww! She did tell me that you said hello. You can email or text me anytime for an update though! My cell is on the bottom of my emails. Would love for you to say hello.
ETW: Oh No! She was a strong little girl!
Thanks for all of your help guys! I need all the help I can get! LOL
I bet you look amazing with your little babybump! My sister did the exact same things before they brought the boys home. And the dogs and kids assimilated beautifully! Glad you are feeling so good.

LOL...I told NNG that I felt like I was handing my kid over to the stepmother. Thanks for taking such good care of her for me! She loves Camp Jenny Fab :)
P.S. Your little bump was so cute!
Hi - I came across your blog thru Efen and The Girl and was reading your profile. I just wanted to say I had a baby at 40. My son I had at 21 and he was born autistic but my daughter, who is now 5, is perfect. Both kids are best friends. I think the autism took away that age-gap.
But I just wanted to stop by and say congratulations. You will be great as an "older mommy." (Don't you just hate that term!!!) We have more patience, money and life experiences than those younger mommies. Of course, the downside is we don't have as much energy, or at least that's my case. So congratulations and I look forward to hearing your baby stories.
