Yep... she's moving...

Being a first time mother, I am clueless on almost everything pertaining to motherhood. Yes, I know HOW to take care of kids... I have just never had one.

I went to see my OB (I have my ultrasounds at a high risk clinic) on Monday and was very pleased when he told me that "my water drinking has improved." Yeah! I thought I was off caffeine once and for all because I went down from 1 12 oz drink to 3/4 of the bottle, then 1/2 and then a few sips. So, yesterday, I felt frisky and didn't have any. Well... that did not last long before the headache started. J came in my office around three with a Mountain Dew that I swear, looked like David Beckham. He finally convinced me to just have a few sips. It was the best taste I have had in a long time! I tried again today and the headache was worse. So guys... not as brave as I thought. In the morning... I will go back to half of the bottle and hope the headache stay away.

When my nurse, Wendy, came in, the first thing she does is take my blood pressure and she uses the portable fetal monitor and gets a reading of the heartbeat. She is holding steady at 147. She also told me that she was moving. It dawned on me.... that feeling I have had the last few days, with the first one being last Thursday (April 16) while I was in Lexington, was not gas! WOW. I have been feeling her everyday since and did not know it and it never dawned on me! I know..... dumb. I can't help it either! My Dr said I would start feeling her around 18-22 weeks and I thought it was still to early even though I was 18 weeks last week. I am now 19 weeks and I treasure every single day that I have with her. She is the most amazing thing that has ever happened to me and I am just in awe of her and she isn't even here yet.

I remember that flutter and not knowing what the heck it was for awhile! Amazing, isn't it?

I'm glad everything is healthy and happy with Honey Roasted.

I've said this before and I stick by it - while doctors warn against all kinds of things during pregnancy, quitting them suddenly can be even worse when our bodies are addicted. You feeling stressed and getting headaches may be much more harmful than that 1/2 bottle of Mountain Dew. Go easy on yourself! Remember people had healthy babies all the time before we knew any of this crap! Nature has a way of taking care of itself.

How exciting! I think I might be like you when I end up having kids lol I know how to raise them but nothing about having one living inside me.

Love the david B. analogy he-he

I gave up soda last summer, once you can get away from it for a few days then weeks when you try it again it actually might not taste that good. If I try and take a drink of it now, I just go EWWW too sugary :)

Think of it as two people sharing an apartment and SHE is allergic to your perfume, you have to hold back until she moves out LOL

Hang in there, we can have an online blog intervention for your addiction if needed HA-HA

Yay!! :-) It is such a neat feeling! You know, a little bit of caffeine isn't going to hurt. I had at least one cup of coffee a day when I was pregnant with Sissy (I craved it!) and all is well - and I was also high risk. Just be sure to get in your water, too! :-)

It's cute now, but just wait until she starts pounding on your bladder at 8 months! :) Seriously, I am so happy for you!! It's is a cool feeling. Soon, you'll figure out her favorite things that you eat. My baby loves when I eat cheese or chocolate!

Vinomom: It is indeed amazing. I love the taste of Mtn Dew now and I just want one a day, so I'm taking your advice!

Loni: Oh.. our boy Becks.... YUM!

ETW: The more I drink water, the easier it is getting.... my soda is my coffee!

GiGi: Yeah, I heard the 8 month mark is when they get good and rowdy! What does he do when you eat his favorites? I haven't heard this one before!

When I eat cheese or chocolate, he gets especially feisty. There's not a whole lotta room left in my uterus, so he kind of elbows me...it's very weird, but he only does that harsh kind of wriggling when I eat those 2 things. Otherwise, he just kind of moves a little here and there to make his presence known!
