Little giggles...

Ok.. so you all know how baby dumb I am, right? Well, I am. Everyday there is something new with Baby Fab and I am left thinking, WOW.

First, you all know about my job, Repo Sally. Daily, I have to go outside and move vehicles around my lot so that auction can pick them up for transport. Yesterday, I went out to move a Chev Tahoe. When I opened the truck driver's side door.... I felt a gush of water rush down half way down my calf and onto my feet. I IMMEDIATELY thought that my water broke! I am freaking out. "What am I gonna do?" "This is too early." " OMG.... I'm terrified." I mean, I am freaking out. BIG TIME. I come to my senses a few seconds later and just "feel" around on my dress (Don't get excited, Efen) and realize that I am dry. It's water from the inside the door of that damn truck!!!!! Don't ask me how water got in there, but there it was and I was standing in it thinking that Baby Fab was on her way. I know.... stop laughing, y'all.

If that wasn't funny enough, I am coming out of my lot giggling over how dumb I am, and what happens next??? A huge breeze comes along and blows my dress up over my rear! Seriously. There is a homemade ice cream store across the street from my office and there just HAD to be an older couple sitting there enjoying their ice cream and getting their eyes full of my booty! I yelled... "OMG! I am mortified!" The female chuckled and said, "It happens to all of us." I thought I was not going to make it back inside my office without anything else happening!

I get back inside and a transporter came in to pick up a vehicle. We got the paperwork done and he asked me if I was pregnant...here's how the convo went:

Me: Well, yes I am.

Transporter: Damn..... (hanging his head and shaking it in disgust).. my wife just called me and told me that she was pregnant.

Me: Congrats!! That's awesome!

T: Awesome? That will make me NINE kids! 10 if we have twins again.

Me: ahhhh ahhh well welll that's...... great! You have your softball team!

He just laughs and says that she has to get something done THIS time. I was thinking, " Really? ya think?"

I then leave for an OB appt. I was telling my Dr about what had just happened and he and the nurses had to sit down they were laughing so hard. Baby Fab is doing great. My Dr assured me that he was not taking his vacation until after she comes because he HAD to be the one to deliver her because I was one of his favorite patients. That made me feel good. Don't think I'm crazy, but I am leaning toward a C-Section. I KNOW RECOVERY WILL BE TWICE AS HARD! He told me that I could choose, with the right reasons, but he had to wait until she is 39 weeks. If I made it that far, he will take her on Sept 10.

I know, y'all think that I have lost my mind. Right?

Earlier this evening, I was just laying here, watching a bunch of stuff that I have recorded and taking it easy when I feel Baby Fab start to move around. All of a sudden... I felt a series of little thump... thump... thumps. Like a heartbeat. I was initially scared (which, I am a little freaked out still) and couldn't think what was going on inside with her when it dawned on me... she has the hiccups! At least, I think so. I called my neighbor and she said it was. So, another milestone today for Baby Fab and one freaked out, scared mommy to be who is left again thinking..... "Is she ok?" For the 100th time!!!!!

Oh, recovery from a C is no harder than any other surgery. Sure, you have to be gentle getting up and all, but I've had 2 and it's not bad. Sissy always had hiccups...she was the funniest baby!

Awww loved that post! I was lol'ing pretty hard about the water breaking!

Ok now I am no one and I know that, but I really think you should try to have a natural birth (I don't mean w/out drugs, I just mean not a c-section).

It's an experience you will never be able to have again.

I am so not one of those naturalist wierdo no drug people. I just think, if you CAN, (meaning no harm to you or baby) it's not something you wanna miss!

But of course, do whatever you feel best about (as if some random blogger comment was going to change your mind!)

I have no advice on HOW you should have her, just for God's sake don't have her in the middle of that repo lot! I can just see the trash guy or Kid Rock or Flirty Curty happening by right about then and having to deliver her!!! :)

hiccups....that is freaking adorable ;)

Uh...I'm w/ Elle...I have no freakin idea what you should do..I would think that would be up to you and your Dr.....and of course 'NNG' ;)

There are certain things that happen when the baby passes thru the birth canal (compression of the skull, etc) that do not happen during a c-section. Also, babies born by C-section are not exposed to their mother's bacteria when they pass through the birth canal -- something that helps prime the immune system. Here is an article about that, and a connection to asthma as a result:

I would just discuss it with your doctor very thoroughly (esp. if you or hubby have history of allergies or asthma). :)

Whatever you do, the baby will be fine - and you will, too - I am sure.

BTW, I know this is just one theory about c-sections....not trying to ruffle anyone's feathers. I know plenty of people who've had c-sections with no problem to them, or their babies. :)

ETW: It's certainly a hard decision...trying to gather all the facts before it is set in stone. The hiccups were the funniest thing to happen so far!

Vinomom: Yeah... I thought Baby Fab was gonna be Repo Baby Fab. I wish I could deliver with no drugs! What a Rockstar I'd feel like even though millions have done it before me.. but I'm whiney!

Elle: ROTF! I haven't seen Kid Rock in FOREVER! Wonder who's world he's rockin' these days?

Efen: Maybe NGG will come to visit me in the hospital after Baby Fab arrives with Elle. Hint hint Elle.

Gigi: I couldn't pull up that article! I have to read it though! I have to research this stuff as much as possible. My immune system is great, so I want to pass that to her. This is something I did not know. I will email you more on this. Thank you so much for telling me. I had not had a chance to get online and really weigh the pros and cons, I just have a few past medical complications that would make it hard for natural birth. Having to prepare for a baby is hard! LOL

Too funny about thinking your water broke! Nice to know I am not the only airhead in our group! ;)

I can only imagine the nerve wrecking feelings of not ever being able to be prepared enough for her arrival! Like everyone else has said, I think that whatever you decide to do, just make sure you weigh all your options and make an informed decision!

LOL at your "water" breaking! OMG - I woulda freaked out too!! Showin' your hiney all over town too, eh?? Bet the old man loved it!! LOL! Hiccups are so cute when the do it in utero - your kinda like "Wtf was that?!!"...I've had 2 c-sections (1st one's recovery was a little tough, 2nd one, no prob.!) - do whatever works best for you & BFab - you can't go wrong either way! Ok, I think I've covered it all now.... ;)

OMG that's too freaking funny. Your so paranoid ! It's really cute. I had all three the natural way, so I can't weigh in on the c-section since I've never had one. Whatever you pick will be fine. :)

OMG - I can totally understand why and how you were so upset over the water thing - that must have been scary. Thank goodness Baby Fab is okie dokie!!!
I think it's your birth and your baby and you should do what you wish. I had both of mine without drugs (11 1/2 lbs and 10 lbs....) and came home when they were 1 horu old each. Everybody is different -- most people thought I was craZZZy (which I am, thank you very much!) but you do whatever you and your doc agree on - the heck with what anyone else says!!
