Mattress cleaning?

My mom bought a mattress 3 yrs ago at a local furniture store. It has a ten yr warranty. Lately, she has noticed "stains" coming through her mattress pad and on the mattress. She has no idea where the stains came from. They finally called her today after the service call 3 weeks ago and told her that they are going to replace the mattress pad and will "shampoo" the mattress.

Can this be done? I have never heard of "shampooing a mattress." I need answers fast!!!!!

Now, I'm asking for help....

I can't even get started working this morning. I'm so upset. Baby Fab will not take the breast. She did fine on Friday and took it during the night and morning, but not during the day and yesterday. She will still take it if she wakes, but other than that--- she will have nothing to do with it. Really hope she changes her mind and I won't give up trying to get her back on daily. I still pump and I know the most important thing is to still give her the breast milk, but I will miss her so much perched down there. My favorite time is after B Daddy goes to work at 5:30. It's just us snuggled on the couch or chair and she nurses until she takes her evening nap. I leave her there and hold her as much as I can until 7. That's when we get up and have play time. I put her in her exersaucer (which she LOVES LOVES LOVES) or her bumbo while I clean the kitchen or do whatever. At 8, she has her veggies (loves everything except green beans) and then finishes it off with some cereal. I told my Dr her schedule (which is Sleep as much as she wants until 7, dinner at 8, baths and she goes down like a champ at 9 sharp), and she said it sounded great.

Last night, my mother, who keep in mind has not had an infant in 40 yrs) told me that her eating her veggies that late was not a good idea. I said, "Really?" and she said... "Well, I should know... I had four kids." Very "matter of factly." Oh hell no....Hold my earrings, Elle. I was so freaking mad. You know what? I may not know a whole lot about raising a child and each day is a huge learning experience for me, but don't fucking tell me how to do it if I do not ask. Every mother reading this post.. did you know every single answer to every single question with your first child? I'm sure she didn't. It made me feel like I don't know how to take care of her. Is it too late? Hell if I know. All I know is she doesn't seem like her tummy aches afterwards or seem uncomfortable. Am I right or wrong? She thinks it's just not right to have her on a schedule cause "she never had to put her kids on a schedule and she had four." Yeah, I know how many kids you have, mom. I was raised with each and every one of them. Grrrr. She is politely telling me how to take care of her and I know it. What she is going to do is make me stop telling her things that I do with her so I don't have to feel like an idiot. I would hate to do that to her, but it is really bothering me. Oh, she doesn't like the fact that she has not had fruits yet. Like I'm punishing Baby Fab by not giving her the fruits. Uummm, it's called giving her time to really, really enjoy veggies cause I'm scared once she has fruits, she will not go back to veggies. Again, I spoke to her Dr about her eating habits 2 weeks ago when we were in for a checkup. She said that she should be ok with cereal in the mornings, breast milk during the day, veggie and cereal before she goes to bed and around 6 months, I would probably have to add more things to her diet. But, if she doesn't seem cranky or act like she is hungry... go with that until she lets me know otherwise.

One thing I hate more than anything is to have to explain myself. To anyone. I run a business and I should not have to explain myself to my employees. They question me from time to time and I have learned to say one of two phrases, which they hate, BTW: HBIC (Head bitch in charge) or RHIP (rank has it's privileges). What I really wanna say is.... cause I'm the mommy, that's why. I guess I'm just frustrated because I feel like I have to explain everything I do to my mother. I would never say anything to her though... but I'm biting my tongue so much, it is about chewed in half.

Baby Fab seemed off this weekend and I wonder if she's cutting teeth. The past couple of mornings, she was "rattling" when I went in to get her and ran a low grade temp yesterday. She was very quiet, though not cranky and still playful. She didn't take many naps either this past weekend. Oh, BTW, if you didn't know-- she went to her crib on Fri night. It has been going well and I think she loves having more room. I actually did better than I thought I would. IT was very strange to put her in her bed and turn the light out knowing she was down for the night. I put a CD player in there with some Lullaby's and she will just listen carefully.

Yesterday, it was so warm outside and we went up to the mall. It was the first time that we had Baby Fab's face uncovered and she was just amazed looking outside! When I put her in the stroller, I decided to see what she would do if I set up the back rest of her stroller. SHE LOVED SITTING UP LIKE A BIG GIRL! The picture is on Facebook. She is sitting up wonderfully and she had her first REAL rollover last night while waiting on me to get her bath ready! About a month or so ago, she rolled 1/2 way over. Well, she has worked hard trying to figure out how to get her arm out of the way and last night, she went all the way and quickly propped herself up with her hands. So stinking sweet.

I'm rambling this morning, but need some help from my friends.... Why won't she take the breast? Will she go back? Is 8 too late for veggies? Am I going to loose my mind sooner rather than later?

It's a New Year y'all!

ok.. so I started this post shortly after the 1st and just now getting back to posting. I'm gonna ramble on so here goes: Life is so busy now! Baby Fab is doing wonderful and is 4 months old now. B Daddy and I are going to Vegas in April and I just finished our reservations and I'm so torn on whether or not to take her. Ummm, BTW... I just read Gigi's post about her trip home. I was thinking that before Baby Fab came along, I would have fattened that jackass out after he said the first word. Since Ive had her, what I do and say now reflects on her. So, Gigi, hats off to you, honey! You did the right thing with one boy sitting there. Y'all know I'm already :::::TRYING:::: to clean up my language before she starts to repeat everything that I say! I can't stand the thought of leaving her and being so far away from her, though I know the trip alone would wear her out. :sigh: I am reading your comments on Facebook and agree that we should leave her.

We are about to take stupid to court for full custody of the Big One. He's 14 and able to decide and really begging to live with us. We, I mean I, have put it off because I am trying to get used to the whole new baby thing. I can't do it any longer. We will ask for joint custody of the little one and hopefully, she will just give them to us once she sees that she will get little to nothing in support from us now. You know what will stop her? The fact that SHE will have to pay support on them to us. We just want the kids. That's all. We don't need her support. I'll keep you posted.

Last Saturday, we went to see a friend of B Daddy's as he and his wife had a baby about 7 weeks ago. We get there and she isn't there with the infant. He said that she went to a birthday party at a bowling alley WITH A 7 WEEK OLD BABY!!!! One of his kids comes out of his room hacking and coughing and the big vein in my forehead just about popped. I mean, we called to see if we could drop by.. HE COULD HAVE TOLD US FOR FUCKS' SAKE that one of his kids was sick! The dad kept telling the kid to stay in his room and each time he came out, he was hacking more. He told him about 4 times before I finally said... "Asa, please stay in your room, I have a baby out here and I can't afford for her to get sick." The fuckstick father never said anything and I dared him to, too. Finally, the hill jack woman came home with the baby and he was a little doll. A head full of hair. GOd love it; he can't help it his parents are idiots. THEN HE STARTED COUGHING! The mom said, "Did Kirk tell you the kids were sick?" And, I said, "No, but we need to get going since they are." My God, what idiots! To make matters WORSE... the mom posts a message on my Facebook on Monday: "Hey Jenny Fab, thanks for visiting with us on Saturday. Titus has RSV and I hope Baby Fab does not get it since you had her here. Sorry, but thanks for the gift!"

Wonder if she would still thank me after the surgeons remove the closest object that I want to shove up her ass?

Heavy heart part 2

I am so sorry to be so morbid; really, I am. But, I know you all pray and will pray for her. Dena has to be the saddest thing that I have ever seen. I went after work not knowing if I would be able to see her or not. Her husband, mother and three little girls were there. I walked in and in the corner stood the Christmas Tree. Tears quickly filled my eyes. The little girls were so sweet and asked me how I was doing. I'm not sure of their ages. The youngest looked like she was 4-5. The mom took me to a back bedroom and Dena was just laying there. I had not expected it to be so bad. I told myself that I would not cry in front of the family. But, after seeing her, I broke down. I cried for my friend who will in all likelihood, never be able to hold her newborn baby. I cried for her because she will not see her kids grow up. I cried for her mother and husband. I tried, you guys, I promise I did. It was just so heartbreaking. She is 31 yrs old and has never, ever had anything wrong with her other than a cold. Dr's are not 100 % certain what happened. They suspect Cardiomyopathy. Wikipedia says: "Cardiomyopathy, which literally means "heart muscle disease," is the deterioration of the function of the myocardium (i.e., the actual heart muscle) for any reason."

She told me that Dena was fine on Sept 17 earlier in the day. She had a 4 D ultrasound and everything looked great. She felt fine. That night, she collapsed. They rushed her to the ER and when Dena quit breathing, so did the baby and they delivered her in the ER via C-Section in 34 seconds; she was 7 weeks early. They would not name the baby for the first 10 days because they kept waiting for her to wake. Finally, they named her Addison Raenee. They call her Addy. The mother's sister takes care of the baby during the day and most evenings, so that she can take care of Dena and when the husband gets home, he takes care of the other 3 girls. They bring the baby everyday and place her on the bed so Dena can spend time with her. They also believe that the baby is deaf, but other than that, she is healthy. She is one week younger than my little girl.

Dena will move when there is a loud noise, so she is some responsive. I talked to her and told her that she needed to get better so that our girls could have play dates together. Her eyes are open and she is not on a ventilator, but she has a trachea. The mom said that the Dr's said she would probably be like that the rest of her life. She was able to come off the ventilator, which they said would not happen and she has gotten better since the accident first happened. Her mother was very sweet and told me to come by anytime, which I will do. Please pray for this girl that she gets better and is able to be a wife and mother again.

My heart is heavy today.

I have a heavy heart this morning. First, I just found out about Efen's dad. This breaks my heart and I'm sending out warm thoughts his way. {{{HUGS}}}}

I've been wanting to let you all know about a friend of mine for a while now, but just been busy and haven't been able to post about her. I'm taking the time today.

I go by this little gas station everyday to and from work. This is the place where I get my gas (and B Daddy's when I drive his car). I never go inside (B Daddy does all the time) as I pay with my debit card outside. However, when I found out that I was pregnant with Baby Fab, I was having trouble finding something to drink that did not make me sick, so I went inside every morning sampling what seemed like everything in the store, until I was happy with Apple juice. I became friends with a very sweet girl, Dena, when she wondered after the third morning why I was buying different drinks. I told her I was pregnant and was looking for something good to drink. So, we became friends. After about 6 weeks, she told me she was pregnant. It wasn't her first child, she had three others and this one was a surprise. She was happy anyway. So, as I was just getting over my sickness, hers was starting. I still stopped in from time to time to see her and she was doing great. We would see each other at the baseball field this summer as that's where our kids played baseball.

I had not been in the gas station in a while when over the Thanksgiving holiday, B Daddy and I stopped to get gas there. He went inside and I sat in the car. When he came out, I asked him if Dena was in there and how she was doing and he said "Didn't you hear?" I said "No, what do you mean?" and that's when he told me. He had not seen her in there in a long time and asked a few weeks ago if she had quit. They told him that she is in a coma. She has a very, very rare heart condition and something happened and it sent her into a coma before her baby was born. They ended up taking the baby 6 weeks early and she is healthy. With tears rolling down my cheeks, I went inside to see if I could find out anything more. They told me that her husband had to take a class to be able to take care of their baby and that she was not in the hospital and being taken care of at home now and they don't think that she will come out of the coma.

This has laid heavy on my heart since I found out. It's just so sad. I'm not sure how old she is, but I know that she is younger than me (I'm 41) and it's tragic. She has 4 kids... one being an infant around Baby Fab's age (3 months) and that baby girl will not get to know her mother. It breaks my heart all around, but, since I have had Baby Fab... girls.... I'm telling you... I am so tender hearted now. Tears fill my eyes each time that I drive by that damn gas station. If I could take another route to work, I would.

I can't imagine not seeing my baby girl grow up and it breaks my heart to think about something happening to me and she is left without her mommy. I know this is kinda morbid to think about, but I can't help it.

I'm determined to go and see her if her family will let me. I just want to tell her that I pray everyday that she wakes up to hold her children again and she returns to her family. I'm asking all my blogger friends to pray for this sweet, young girl and that she makes a full recovery.

Finally

I still get so emotional. The smallest things just make me tear up when I think of my baby girl. Saturday evening, I took the boys and Baby Fab to the mall so that they could trade in some old video games and get Baby Fab's taken with Santa. I worried the whole time that he was going to be a pervert, but was very relieved when he really looked innocent.

This was my first outing with Baby Fab, (except for a quick trip a week ago when I carried her in my arms inside the mall for like, 15 minutes which I will NEVER do again!) and her first trip with her stroller. I was a little nervous placing her in the stroller at first, but she quickly got a little grin on her face as she was just fed and diapered and was just kicking back and looked very relaxed. I started pushing the stroller and got a little teary eyed. See, I have always wanted a baby... even when I said I did not. Even when I said that I was content without one... even when I said that it was so nice to "get up and go to Vegas" on a business trip without worrying what I would do with a child. I lied. To everyone. All the time. It got easy, too. Even when J and I married. I acted like it was no big deal if I did not get pregnant because we had the boys and then we could do what we wanted on our weekend and not worry about what we would do with a baby. I told everyone that we were happy with or without a child. Lie.

So, as I pushed my baby girl in her stroller, I was a mommy taking my baby to the mall like so many other mommy's do. Finally. I always wanted to push a stroller around the mall so that everyone would oh and ah over my baby like I had done to every single child I passed being pushed around. As I stood in line waiting to see Santa, I looked around and said "Finally". I saw how people were looking at us, smiling at the baby and I wondered if they thought Baby Fab was a pretty baby or just how sweet she seemed. I stood in line and wiped a tear as I was finally able to do all this stuff that might seem so trivial to most people. People might say... "Just wait.. that stroller will get on your nerves dragging it in and out of the car." "You'll get tired dragging that baby around the mall." You know what I have learned since the day that I found out I was pregnant (Feb 2, 2009)? .. I'm a lucky girl to FINALLY have my baby and to not take anything for granted. Finally.. I get to do the things that I have always wanted to do with a child and I will do everything I can with her with a smile on my face and a tear in my eye.

So, for this year.. I am so thankful to God for giving me this very sweet baby that melts my heart every single minute of every single day.

Are you ready?

Last night, the power flickered a few times and finally went off for about 10 minutes. When it first went off, we heard a bunch of sirens and we figured it must have been an accident. J fumbled around for a few seconds in the dark wondering where a flashlight was located since all of them usually end up outside somewhere because the kids play spotlight and leave them on the porch. Sure enough, he went outside and found one in the mailbox and noticed the whole block was off. I sat on the couch with Baby Fab and wondered something more. We are not ready in case something drastic happened. Nothing stock piled. No water. No food. No blankets. Notta and it scared the holy hell out of me.

I can take anything that happens to J and me, but my heart breaks when I think of something happening since Baby Fab came along. I mean, you never know what could happen and I AM NOT READY!!!!!!!!

So, my mission this week is to have food, water, batteries, flashlights (that the kids don't know about), blankets, and food for the baby put away. That 10 minutes in the dark shook me into reality. Can y'all think of anything else I can put away?

Do you have your stash????

Can't bring myself to do it.....

It's been a while! I am so bad for not posting before now. I don't know how you mother's out there do it! I am having so much fun with her though! Baby Fab is now 7 weeks old and just a little lamb. Nothing in this world is any sweeter than when she smiles at me! She is starting to slobber a little and follow me with her eyes. Taking her to work is still working out ok.... but, I know I have get a sitter very soon. I had to be in KY for a week and a half for training last week and she stayed with my mom during the day. Mom had a hard time with her because she is not used to being with me (or the boob). We had a good visit with the family and they all got to spend alot of time with Baby Fab. My parents really wanted me to go to church (If you felt a small rumble, I hope you weren't alarmed... it was me walking into a church!) and I was a nervous wreck but went anyway. People were very nice and only one crazy lady asked to hold her. Can you believe people actually ask? I would never ask to hold someone's baby. Ever. I didn't want to make the Lord mad in his own house, so I let her. I made her go wash her hands and even put on sanitizer. Figured she would get mad and not to it.... but she practically ran to the bathroom and back. I even asked her if she was in anyway sick. She WAS NOT giving up on holding my baby. Mom said she was harmless and it would be ok. I let her for like a minute. Hey... at least I let her!

Getting back to my title, I can't bring myself to take this down:

Photobucket

I know.. crazy. I have a little plastic tote in the closet in her room and keep putting special things into it that I can't bring myself to let go. I will keep EVERYTHING!

We have been sooo blessed with what people have bought or given to us. You girls (and Efen) have been wonderful. All of the love and support (and cute gifts) have just made me feel like the luckiest girl in the whole world. I love you guys so much! I want to thank Elle for getting me on this blog because without it... I would not have each and everyone of you guys! sniff sniff.

Here is Baby Fab on her first Trick or Treat night:
Photobucket

Ok... what would a post be without a rant?

Last night was trick or treat night. It was very warm outside, so my neighbor, Tonya, and I sat out on my porch and handed out candy. The kids were so dang cute. Notice, I said KIDS..... do you have any idea how many ADULTS came to TOT (trick or treat)? A freakin blue million. WTF????? It's for kids!!!! I had one couple come with an infant (3 months or less) and held out their bucket!!! And to beat all.... the dad was in a Winnie the Pooh costume!!! Give me a fucking break. Grow the fuck up. I'm all for dressing up on Halloween and all... but for crying out loud.... a 3 month old does not need Tootsie Rolls and Lollipops! It's for their sorry asses! I just wanted to tell them that, too. I didn't though. I was a good girl. Seriously. Fucking people. Dumb ones at that.

All right... enough for now.... Baby Fab is in her craddle (I will really cry when she outgrows that!) and sound asleep and I need to be asleep, too. She is doing really well nursing and sleeping at night. Believe it or not.... I haven't lost a whole lot of sleep. Oh yeah, she gets some shots on Monday! I somehow think that I will cry more! I'll let you know.

Happy Halloween!!!

On the mend

Hey y'all! I'm so sorry I have not been in real contact since Baby Fab made her arrival. This will be kinda short and the grammer will be poor. (PILLS ARE GOOD!!!!) Things have been kinda blurry. On Sat, my tummy was very sore and tender. Sunday, above my c-section, there started to form a red, hot infection spot. I called Dr and he said to come Monday morn. Sun nite, I got a temp, and had flu like symptoms. I went to Dr on Monday and it was now 10 times worse. He told me it was cellulitis and gave me anti bio and said he will see me on Wed. By Tues night, the entire area above and below the site and spreading down my right leg, the surgery scar was massively hot and swollen. I mean there was a mountain of inf. and it was really painful. I could not even stand up straight. I cried I was so sore. I mean, killing me would have been an option. My neighbor, who is an OB nurse, came over that night and said that it would prob pop open. Well, when I got up to take shower on Wed for Dr appt, it did. It started out as a little hole. I pressed on it and it opened more. I screamed for Jamie, terrified, and my neighbor came over. She said it was good that it ruptured. It took 3 hand towels before I could dress enough to get to Dr. Dr took one look at me and said he was admitting me. He worked on me more in his office and then he took some inst. and opened me up more! Ummm, yeah, it was soooo painful and I cried and cried. I took that without numb meds. He sent me home to get my things and I cried the whole way cause I had to leave Baby Fab. I called my mom to come and help. The rest of yesterday, I just rested. This morn, he came in and wanted to open me up more, but I insisted on numby meds. It helped some, but he went past here the numby ended. He took hemostats and scissors and literally, cut me back open. I took it again b/c I have to get better to get home to my sweet girl. I feel much better this afternoon. I can actually move around without crying in pain. I get to go home tomorrow and I am so happy. It has been very heart breaking to be away from my sweet girl, but I was getting to the point to where I was just unable to take care of her I was so bad off. I was exhausted, too. By tomorrow, I should be back up to par. Because of the strength of the anti bio, I am unable to give the milk to Baby Fab. So, I have to pump and dump. The baby did not have to take the formula until today and I am not sure how long it will be again until I can breast feed. Hopefully, she will take it back. She is a healthy little eater, too!

Let me just go ahead and tell you.... there is NOTHING in my life that will ever compare to when I saw her for the first time. Nothing. She is the most perfect little angel. I would go through this again 10 times to have her again. She has her days and nights mixed up and I am doing everything that I can (well, that's kinds shot right now with me being in here!) to get her on a schedule. She is IMPOSSIBLE to wake up when I need her to, but thanks to Momma (bath her alot!) and Gigi (swaddle her at night) I have been able to get more. Suggestions are always welcome!

I better run before I fall asleep on this laptop! Thank you so much for your prayers and concerns. I love you guys!

Happy Birthday, BabyFab!

She's heeeeeeeeeere!

Hi everyone, it's Elle guest-blogging for Jenny Fabulous. She had one or two more important things to do today and asked me to fill in while she tended to this little peanut .

I DIE!

How is it possible that this adorable little butterbally slice of sweetness emerged from her gerd-having, non-water drinking, death-ray flipping mama I'll never know. But...she's finally here, and even though I haven't been able to see her for myself yet, I'm assured that she is perfectly perfect, and that she and mommy are both doing wonderfully :) I can't wait to smell her sweet baby head!

Jen had a scheduled c-section this morning and BabyFab was born at 10:41 a.m. She weighed 7 lbs., 13 oz. and hit the height chart at 19 inches. She's already a supermodel! I'm not yet sure who she looks like, but I'm pretty sure it's me. And, although Jenny and I are cousins and not sisters, I've determined that I shall be called Auntie Elle. We might as well be sisters, because no one else on Earth could be a more supportive, loving cousinsisterfriend than she is. And God knows her "real" aunts are all batshit crazy, but that's part of their charm and we love 'em for it anyway :)

Ok, seriously (no, really!)....

Y'all can't imagine how important Jennifer has been to me my entire life, but especially the last few years. I know how much she's wanted this little nugget for a long, long time. BabyFab is truly a miracle and a blessing to our entire family, and I pledge to be the best, most supportive, most protective, most FUN "Aunt" ever...and with that said, I really want her to know....

I love you, BabyFab, already. Welcome to our crazy, fabulous world :)

Baby Fab's new digs.....

Hey guys.... I wanted to first, say thank you for all of the help on her name (BTW..it's not Katherine! That was just an example.) I know hubby was very happy that you ALL agreed with him. LOL Second, for the kind words about my hair. Here's a update: I got up yesterday morn and still felt like it was gaped. I did not have time to go back to see her until around 2:30. When I went in, Linda (shop owner and the one who cut my hair last time) had a customer in her chair, but Candice Edward Scissorhands was there and luckily, did not have a customer. I asked her if I could speak to her in private outside. When we went out, I told her that I loved the idea of the short cut and I was just not some hormonal pregnant lady, but felt like the right side of my hair was gaped. I told her that I asked my neighbors and they agreed and I just wanted her to see. She was very sweet and started to examine my hair when she said in a soft voice.... "I'm so sorry... I did gap your hair. I can see it and I am sooo sorry. When you left yesterday, Linda told me some things that I could have done differently." I just about died right there. She knew when I left that she jacked up my hair. (It was really hard to see in the picture that I posted).

I said, "There is not a lot you can do now is there without going shorter, is there?" She replied, "No and I am so very sorry. Thank you so much for coming back and giving me the chance; I know you did not have to do that." I got into her chair and all she could do was take a little off the left side. It still was gaped. She kept apologizing and said that I never had to come back and she understood. She finally said that that was all she could do and she was going to Linda to see if she could do anything. Linda came over and she told her that she had gaped my hair yesterday and asked if there was anything more that they could do.

Linda: I think it looks adorable.
ES: No, I gaped it.
Me: Can you NOT see the gap?
Linda: Well, it's like the picture.
Me: NO! IT IS NOT!
At this point, I was infuriated. ES admitted her mistake and was very apologetic, the least she could do was agree cause that bitch knew damn good and well that ES jacked up my hair. I was ready to slit her neck with those scissors.

I told her that there was nothing that could be done without going shorter and that I guess for all my baby pictures that were getting ready to be taken, I would have to wear a headband. Her reply? "You'll be off work for a while and it will grow back out quick because of the pre-natal vitamins that you are taking." I WAS ABOUT READY TO LAY THAT BITCH OUT. I could see the look of shame on ES face, but she didn't say anything. I thanked them and left.
SO, instead of getting a haircut to take me away from the bob, which I have had for years... what did I end up with? A bob. snif snif. I wanted to turn around and tell Linda that I would not be back because of her attitude and not ES fucking incompetence as a hairdresser and she needs to keep a closer eye on her new girl so that this does not happen again and she looses more customers.... but.. I didn't cause then she would just say that I am just hormonal because I am 9 months pregnant. It was best to take the high road and just thank them and leave.

Sorry this is long... I wanted to post a couple of pics of Baby Fab's new digs...
This is her bed the ETW gave us and we are soooo in love with it! Big shout out to her for this sweet gift!

Photobucket
OMG... This is what Elle gave us..... I die!!!!! It is a Sterling silver train set and the cars are snow globes! The first two cars hold a little drawer for her first curl and tooth. The engine is a Teddy Bear that sits on a pillow and he holds a heart that will have her name engraved. LOVES IT! The chair had green cushions and I had it re-upholstered with material that matches the swag over her shelves.

Her shelves (notice the little tiny tow truck on the last shelf and her first doll, given by Elle, is on the left.

The circles came from Michael's too, I painted them the colors in her bumper set. I have since added a few more dark red ones to give it a little more pop... it turned out really cute. They hang above her changing table.

I guess that I am as ready as I will ever be! We are on the 6 day countdown and I feel great. Today is my last day working in my office.... I will work from home Tues and Wed. I want to thank you ALL for all of the unconditional love and support that you have given me. All of the good advice (ummm... don't go anywhere.... I still need all of you!)
This was taken today. Have a great weekend, y'all!

I cry like baby right now.....

I've been thinking about a new haircut for a while, just didn't know what I wanted. The other night, I was channel surfing and saw this show called Defying Gravity and this girl with the cutest haircut. I thought, "Well, it's short, so I'll just think about it for a while." Everyday for a week I thought about the cut and decided to call this morning with an appt. She's busy and a good stylist and thought it would take a few days to get in (and, if I had the baby before the appt., it wasn't meant to be.) I was surprised when I was told to come in in an hour because she had a cancellation. Perfect. Keep in mind that I have only been to this woman once a couple of months ago and she gave me a haircut that I really liked. I used to go to Charleston to a girl for a few yrs and just got tired of driving an hour to get there, so I wanted someone closer. I asked around and was directed to Linda. When I got there, I noticed a new girl and it was looking like she was cutting my hair. I wasn't concerned at first and when we started talking, I found out that she just graduated a month ago. I was about to die and my heart started racing. I just thought that Linda would never hire someone who was not competent. I let her start and just thought to myself... "No chit chat with this girl... let her concentrate."

Here are the pictures that I presented to her:

And here is what I got:

And, after:

I cry like baby!!!! Ummmm, hello???? My 11 yr old could have done this! It is NOT what I expected. At. All. The left side of the cut looks fine... but the right side just looks too long and not right.

No need to cry I guess... it's hair and it will grow back, right? sniff sniff

Need advice from you guys!!!

First, sorry I have been MIA lately. I haven't even been a lurker! : (

Anyways.... as most of you know, we are keeping the baby's name a secret until she is born. Hubby and I have had a hard time deciding on a name. There have been a couple for each of us that we have veto'd and it's not been that big of a deal. But, there is one name that we both love. Let's say that we both like the name Katie. I want to just go ahead and name her that, but hubby wants her birth cert to say "Katherine". I know that I will not call her that and just LOVE LOVE LOVE the name Katie. He does too, but wants the cert to say Katherine. Do I give in and just say ok or hold to my ground. And, BTW, he is holding his ground for "Katherine." Lovingly, of course. Keep in mind that my husband lets me have my way at almost EVERYTHING and doesn't ask for anything from me. He's very laid back. Is it that big of a deal? After all, I do like the name.

My DR has decided that we need to do a C-Section due to my past medical history and guys... the whole idea of vaginal delivery scares me to death. Seriously. I'm in no way kidding. I don't know why it terrifies me so, but it does. At first it was just my idea and the Dr agreed. Then, after we started talking about the reasons, my Dr said he was very glad that I told him and said that he for sure 100% needed a c-section. We are scheduling it when I go on Monday for Sept 10! That's 2 weeks from tomorrow. I am very nervous, but so excited. I am not miserable (yet) but it's so awkward getting around and forget about bending over! LOL The only way to see my who-ha is to look at it in a mirror. Hubby and I just laugh.

I feel better about alot of worries that I had and just had to realize that what ever happens, it's in God's hands. In the event that she comes earlier, Elle will be in charge of my blog, Facebook and Twitter, so keep watching!

People are C-R-A-Z-Y!!!!

I know how y'all like a good repo story. Here's another one.

My other office, it's in KY, had a little incident last week that snowballed into this:
Photobucket

Last week, they rec'd an account to repo a voluntary surrender (this is when someone calls the bank and tells them to come and get it because they can't/don't want to pay for it any longer) on a Toyota Tacoma. What is it with Toyota Tacomas and crazy people? Remember what happened to my office a few months ago with a Tacoma? Click here for a refresher. Anyways, they get out there and the deceased's brother has the truck now. He is an old man that has terminal cancer and very sick and has to use one of those voice things (I don't know what they are called) to speak. He gets irate with the agent and tells them to basically, piss off. It was his brother's truck and he did not get anything in his will, so he is keeping the truck. Agent doesn't say anything to him and leaves. We call the client and they instruct the agent to turn it into an involuntary repossession and go back and just take the vehicle. So, later that night, he returns to the property and secures the unit while the man is in bed. I know this seems harsh, but, it is not his vehicle. Heck, my two vehicles that hubby and I drive are not ours... they belong to the bank!

The next morning, the KY crew is in their office doing paperwork when this guy drives into their storage lot (the gates are wide open) and jumps into the truck and tries to leave! Her agents went out there and blocked him in and told him to get out of the vehicle, but, he was not leaving. The old man told them to move or he would run them over! They finally convince him to get out and leave before they had to call the police. We thought this was the end of the story. WRONG!

Monday morning at around 1:30 am, the Fire Dept was banging on the office manager's door telling her her lot was in flames. (She thought that her office building was on fire.) Her b/f is one of her agents, so they get dressed and go down there to find 5 vehicles engulfed (they had exploded as well) and 3 more have heat damage. If you look closely at the photo, the truck in the middle is the Toyota. They had blocked it in on all sides in case he tried to take it again and there is a vehicle in front of the Toyota that you can't see. The police and fire dept asked her if anyone had a grievance and she told them about the Toyota acct. Coincidentally, the fire started with that vehicle.

Jimminey Christmas. People are crazy! This office also had several vehicles damaged by a flash flood back in May. Good thing we have good insurance, but the deductible per car is $500 with a 5 car max. So, we were out $2500 in May and now, another $2500.

I need my own show, huh???

Taking off the tags....

So glad that you guys got to "meet" Baby Fab! My heart just melts every time I look at her ultrasound pictures. J told me Sat morning that she is all that he is able to think about since we had our peek. We looked at them again and I caught him wiping away some tears.

Today starts week 35. Dr appt's are weekly now and he said that eveything looks great and the ultrasound last week went very well. (BTW... J did not go to the last appt with me and he commented today that my Dr still seems very sad having lost his brother. It just breaks my heart.)

I have no idea where the time has gone. Seems like yesterday (Feb 2) that we found out I was pregnant. We have almost everything done now.... the last big things to do were to have my rocking chair cushions re-upholstered (at the shop being covered as we speak) and J is putting up a shelf the length of the main wall in her bedroom this weekend for her many picture frames and misc things that I want in her room.

Today, I will start taking off the tags for her clothes and making sure they are washed and put away ready for her to wear them. I can already tell you I will cry. It's just so real now. I had felt that if I take off tags, something may happen and I haven't wanted to take that step. I know something can still happen, but I have all but put those thoughts out of my head and looking forward to holding my little girl.

Not sure if you guys read the last comment left by Efen on this blog entry, but his comment was "Glad you're feeling better...ya know, you didn't ask one question..and that would be 'What if everything just goes perfectly?"

After I read that....I was done with the negative thinking. I have left it in God's hands and trust that she will be here soon and she will be perfect. Perfect for her daddy and I to love no matter what.

Baby Fab coming to you live from my Mommy's tummy!!

Hello!

My mommy is a little busy this morning, so she asked me to be a guest blogger and introduce myself (well, there is more of me to come... but here is a little peak):

Well, I am being a little shy here, so I decided to play peek-a-boo with my hands. Give me a minute...I'll warm up to you.

Photobucket

I have a little hair and wanted to give you a glimpse of the back of my head. I have a little on top, too.

Photobucket

Here is another peek at my face.... sorry I'm sticking my tongue out... that lady with the camera was quick!

Here I am with a little smile....

Ok... I'm getting a little sleepy now, so I'm gonna pout for a minute....

I hope to meet all of you very soon! My mommy says you all have helped her so much with your kind words, love and support and it's more than she could ever ask for in friends.

Right now, I weigh 5 pounds and 5 ozs. All of my fluid levels look great and I am perfect according to that lady who took my picture!

See you soon!

Relaxin' by the pool

I can't believe that I am gonna post this picture... but I thought I would die laughing when my neighbor took this picture while I was in her pool yesterday!
Photobucket

Y'all have no idea how comfortable it actually was. Took a little 5 minute nap... plenty of sunblock and had my water handy. I could have slept in that pool last night I was so tired!

Today I have been so emotional. Every tiny thing has made me cry. I started crying in the drive thru at Wendy's! I had a meltdown in the shower last night and it just carried over to today. This is just the craziest thing. I hate to admit this, but I love Monday evenings. We had the kids this weekend and they just went full throttle all weekend. The big one asks a MILLION questions; the little one, he is a constant battle to get to take a shower, pick up his clothes, chores, etc. All I want to do is ship everyone off til Baby Fab makes her grand entrance. I could not wait til 5:30 so J would have to leave for work. I'm terrible! I hate myself for feeling this way today. I cherish the time with my husband, but lately.... I just long to be by myself. I love the boys, but my patience right now is very, very thin and the least little thing just makes me want to EXPLODE!

I hate to admit this, too. Today, I am 34 weeks and I know that I only have around 6 weeks until she is born . It is not that I am excited about the baby, I am just terrified. I am consumed with What ifs:

What if I something happens during delivery?
What if I die? Who will take care of her?
What if I don't know why she is crying?
What if I don't know that she's sick?
What if I get postpardum depression?

What if what if what if??????? I will drive myself crazy if I think about it too long. J has the nerve to tell me HE is scared? Right. He's been here before. He knows what to expect and he will not be here every night to help me adjust. It's going to be a huge adjustment. I mean, for 41 years it's been me. I've never had to take care of anyone for more than 24 hours and it scares the holy crap out of me that I will not be able to handle the situation. Especially, since I am such a control freak.

My laptop crashed (or so I thought) last Friday and I finally got it back today. The computer guy was geeky and he smelled bad. His office was a shit hole. It smelled like cat urine and like something had crawled up inside one of the oh, like...... 52 computers piled up inside his office, had died. To make matters worse, he had some christian channel blaring music! Not that I have anything against that genre of music, but for crying out loud.... I couldn't hear myself think! I wanted to just strangle my laptop out of him. I had to stand there for 15 minutes smelling that horrific office while he told me AGAIN what was wrong with my laptop. My skin crawled when he told me that my hard drive was fine and it had, in fact, not crashed. All I kept thinking was.... he probably looked at all my pictures! Vomit. Oh yeah, I had to throw away my laptop case because that freakin smell is now haunting me.

If I am not already irritated enough... the dang smoke alarm battery is going bad and chirps every minute! I will not climb up on a chair to change the battery. I'm pretty sure though that my broom handle is long enough to reach up there and beat the crap out of it until is shuts the hell off or breaks. Whichever comes first makes me no never mind.

Gesh... I'll never make it without killing something or someone. Hang in there with me guys and thanks for listening to my rant. I feel better. Send me positive thoughts to get me over these hump days and I can get back to enjoying my pregnancy.

Embryo's

I was reading my Parenting Magazine last night and read an article about people who freeze their eggs and then, once they have all of the children that they desire, they are left with the decision of what to do with the frozen embryo's still stored. WOW. What a decision to have to make. Some of the women couldn't decide to just keep paying the monthly storage fee (costly), donate, destroy or have them implanted at a time when they know the eggs will not take. While I can not say what I would do unless I was actually in their shoes, I would think that I would want to donate them to a couple who I knew really, really wanted a baby and could not conceive or could not afford to buy the eggs from a donor. I know for a fact that I would not let a Dr implant me knowing that the egg would not fertilize on purpose just to make me feel better by not having to destroying them. Yes, there are Dr's that do that procedure.

A few months ago there was an article in Cosmo that talked about young girls selling their eggs for a large chunk of change. Personally, I do not see anything wrong with that. It might come down to religious beliefs for some people. I don't think that I could ever do that because I always wanted a child, even as a young girl. I would have been afraid that I would deplete my supply before I was really ready even though I know you are born with a million eggs. There is the debate on if you can actually handle the fact that there are children out there that are biologically yours and you don't know anything about them or if you pass them on the street.

What a huge debate....... thoughts??????

Rough start to week 33

Yesterday was the start of my 33rd week. I go to the Dr every 2 weeks now. Her heart rate was 157 and she is very active. I've learned how to get the acid reflux under control (for the most part) and am doing much better with that. It seems that Baby Fab hates it when I lay on either side! I mean, she kicks up a fuss like nobody's business. She just seems to be comfortable when I am on my back and that is wayyy to uncomfortable for me. She kicked up such a fuss a few nights ago that I just gave in and suffered. When I woke up, I felt like I had just ran a marathon and my legs were weak. So, I can't give in to her again. Last night was much better and I was sound asleep when J came in at 7 when he woke me to rub on my belly and tell his baby good morning as he does every morning. It's so sweet; almost as if she knows it's daddy and she wants to say hi as well.

When my Dr came in, he seemed very quiet. We talked about the baby and how I was feeling and told me everything looks great and then just kinda sat there. I asked him if he was ok and he said he was very tired and then proceeded to ask me if I knew his brother, a urologist here in H'ton, had died last week. I was shocked. I told him I had not and was just so very sorry for him. He then told me what happened:
His brother was on his way back from vacation in Miami, FL on I-26 in South Carolina, with his wife and 5 kids, ages 10-18, when he had a massive heart attack and killed him instantly. While driving. His wife grabbed the wheel and steered them off the road and had to crash their vehicle into a small tree to get the vehicle stopped. Someone behind them pulled over and tried to administer CPR, but it was too late. The police and paramedics were called and did not arrive until 30 minutes later. As they pronounced him dead, it started pouring down the rain and the police would not let them move his body and he had to lay there until the coroner could arrive. Right there in front of his wife and children. It's not bad enough that he had to die in front of them, and then had to suffer the indignity of laying in the pouring rain. He told me that he was the best father and adored his family.

Tears ran down my cheek as I watched my sweet Dr., whom I love and adore, be so vulnerable while telling me this tragic story. It just broke my heart. I told him the last time I was there, 2 weeks ago, that when I choosing a new OB after my last ordeal, I had heard that he and his 2 brothers and father were wonderful doctors. His other brother is an orthopedic Dr and his father is also a urologist.

I feel so sorry for his wife and children. It's so funny how someone you have never met can break your heart in an instant and you haven't even met them.
